Signs it's time

When your device won't leave the bench or survive the field

The situations that most often bring hardware startups, manufacturers and tech companies to us.

An idea with no prototype

You need to validate a device with customers or investors and don't have a firmware and hardware team.

Works on the bench, fails in the field

Freezes, dropped connections and resets only show up once the product is installed, far from your team.

Battery life falls short

Real power draw is nowhere near the estimate, and battery swaps turn into cost and complaints.

Firmware nobody owns

The vendor is gone, there are no docs and nobody can even get the code to build again.

Every update means a site visit

Without OTA, each fix becomes a truck roll, a recall or a device left in the field with a known bug.

A prototype that won't scale

Expensive board, parts out of stock or no production test: what worked for a handful of units won't make a run.

Solutions

From firmware to cloud, in one project

Hire us for the whole device or just the piece your team is missing.

Firmware and RTOS

C/C++ or Rust firmware, bare metal or on FreeRTOS and Zephyr, for ESP32, STM32, Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson, Arduino or custom boards, versioned and documented.

Hardware and PCB design

Schematics, PCB layout and component selection when an off-the-shelf board won't do, with cost, availability and manufacturing in mind.

Prototype, testing and pilot run

Working prototype, automated test benches and HIL, plus pilot run support with flashing, production testing and manufacturing documentation.

Connectivity

BLE, Wi-Fi, LoRaWAN or cellular, chosen for the range, power and cost your use case needs, with reliable reconnection and data delivery.

OTA and security

Secure boot, signed OTA updates and encrypted communication so you can fix and improve the product in the field without opening a door to attackers.

Cloud and app integration

Device data flowing to the cloud over MQTT or APIs, with dashboards, apps and fleet management. We also take over legacy firmware from other vendors.

Devskin launch

IoT sensors ready to fast-track your project

Meet Devskin Devices — a catalog of plug-and-play IoT sensors with OTA-updatable firmware, real-time telemetry and native Devskin Cloud integration. Built for teams that need to ship fast without compromising on industrial-grade quality.

Method

From idea to pilot run, in phases

Every phase ends with a concrete deliverable. You decide whether to move on, with risk under control.

1Discovery

Technical discovery

Requirements, operating environment, battery, target cost and connectivity, nailed down before picking a single part.

Requirements and risks mapped
2Proposal

Architecture and phased plan

Microcontroller, radio, RTOS and hardware approach, with phases and milestones, sent within 48h of the first call.

Fixed scope, timeline and price
3Prototype

Working prototype

Dev board or custom PCB, base firmware and a first integration with cloud or app.

Device working end to end
4Validation

Bench and HIL testing

Power draw, range, robustness and failure scenarios tested repeatably, before you spend on production.

Test report and fixes applied
5Pilot

Pilot run

Flashing and production testing, OTA in place and documentation for manufacturing and certification prep.

Pilot units in the field
6Evolution

Field support and new versions

Fixes and new releases over OTA, fleet monitoring and support for your team or your manufacturer.

Product improving without recalls
Fleet in the field

Every device visible, updatable and under control

An IoT product doesn't end when the board ships. You need to know which devices are online, which firmware they run, how the battery is holding up, and update them all safely. We design for that from the first prototype.

  • Status, battery and connectivity telemetry for every device
  • Signed OTA released to device groups, not the whole fleet at once
  • Test benches and HIL running on every new firmware version
  • Logs and field failure records to find the root cause without a site visit
  • Integration with your cloud and your app over MQTT or APIs

FAQ

Embedded systems & IoT development FAQ

It depends on scope. The biggest cost drivers: custom vs. off-the-shelf board, number of sensors and radios, battery and security requirements, cloud and app integration, and certification prep. After our first conversation, you get a proposal with fixed scope, timeline and price.
It depends on hardware complexity, component lead times, board fabrication and test cycles. That's why we work in phases with clear milestones, and the schedule for each phase is spelled out in the proposal.
Send the brief or message us on WhatsApp. We set up a technical call, and within 48h of it you get a proposal with phases, timeline and price. You don't need a finished spec: discovery is part of the work.
Ownership of firmware, schematics and manufacturing files is set in the contract before work starts, along with confidentiality terms. You receive the source files and documentation to build and maintain the product.
Certification is issued by accredited bodies and test labs, not by Devskin. We prepare your product for it: pre-certified radio modules when they make sense, sound design practices, technical documentation and support during lab testing.
Yes. We start by assessing the code, toolchain and hardware, get the build working again, document it and prioritize fixes. We work with ESP32, STM32, Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson, Arduino and custom boards. For machines and PLCs, see industrial automation; for farming, see agro automation.
